Hi, I’m Alessia – the writer and photographer behind BohLand. Originally from Slovakia, I’ve been on the road since I was a child. At 5 yo, I moved to Italy, in the beautiful region of South Tyrol, surrounded by the Dolomites. That’s where my love for nature and passion for photography started.

Over the past six years I’ve been lucky enough to live in many different countries, while working in the tourism industry. In 2019, I moved in the Northernmost point of Europe, the North Cape, Norway - where I am working as a tour guide for international cruise ships.

I would describe myself as a ‘restless pathfinder’ - trying to figure out where I belong, not wanting to define a place where to settle, and not satisfied with the conventional route. During my ‘solo-travels’, is when I discovered the most about myself.

So far, I’ve visited 30 countries, and I can’t wait for more adventures to come.

BohLand started as a journal where I would share personal experiences while exploring the world. I love every aspect of content creation – from storytelling - interviews and research - to photography and graphic design.

I found that blogging was the perfect outlet to practice my skills. I like to write about ‘In-depth’ destination guides and promote lesser-known corners of the globe.
